The video series describes the path of children’s learning and development from birth to eight years old. They’re designed so that everyone who cares for young children can play an important part in giving Colorado’s kids a healthy start.

Build child and caregiver relationships through meaningful, fun, and educational interactions. Structured group time provides the whole family with social opportunities. Parents or caregivers with children ages 5 & under. Older siblings are welcome.

Looking for things to do with your kids in Woodland Park or Florissant? Join one of Rampart children’s libraries. Activities for children include exhibitions, workshops, children’s literacy, and lifelong learning. Libraries are poised to engage families more meaningfully across children’s development.

Supporting Social Emotional Development

Helps caregivers support social-emotional development and address challenging behaviors. Early childhood mental health consultation is available at no cost to early childhood professionals and caregivers caring for children up to age six.

What is Colorado Universal Preschool?
Universal Preschool (UPK) is an exciting new initiative with plans for all 4- year-olds to access at least 15 hours of state-funded, voluntary preschool beginning in the 2025-26 school year.

Who is eligible for preschool support?
All Colorado children who are 4 years old on or before October 1, 2025, are eligible for up to 15 hours of Colorado UPK in the upcoming school year. Families may qualify for more free hours based on a number of qualifying factors, per available funding.

Which programs are participating in UPK?
Colorado UPK will provide families with pre-k options that best fit the needs of your student and family.

How do I apply for my child to attend UPK?
Families may go to upk.colorado.gov to access the family application portal which allows families to express preferences for provider type, hours, and location.

Questions about Universal Pre-K? LCOs are responsible for coordinating a mixed delivery system of UPK Colorado in their community, with the longer-term expectation that they will coordinate all 0-5 related services within their community.
